Instead of going to his shop, the woman asked Bhowmik to come to her house saying that she was ill. She had also asked Bhowmik to bring the gold chain along with him.
There were two youth present in the house when the man went there. They closed the door and one of them pushed Bhowmik on the woman while the other youth who was ready with a cell phone. He clicked a photograph of the moment to prove as if the man was sexually assaulting the woman. They had taken away the gold chain and three gold rings from Bhowmik. They threatened him saying that they would lodge a complaint alleging sexual assault on the woman if he again asked for the money.
Bhowmik went to Bowbazar police station and narrated the entire incident. The police went to the spot and arrested all three of them after preliminary probe suggested the jewellery shop owner's allegations were true. All three of them were remanded to the custody of the police for three days.
