Three Education Amendment Bills passed in Assembly

Three Education Amendment Bills were passed in the Assembly on Friday that will ensure the easy transfer of teachers.

The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (Amendment) Bill, The West Bengal School Service Commission (Amendment) Bill and the West Bengal Schools (Control of expenditure) (Amendment) Bills were passed in the Assembly on Friday. With the amendments being brought, the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education will be having the power to transfer teachers and non-teaching staff from one school to another.

It will be of great help for teachers, mainly the women, as they had to travel long distances to reach their schools. Most of their energy used to get exhausted by travelling such a long distance and it used to affect the teaching in school. It will also help in stop political interference in connection with transfer of a teacher.

The step will also help to rationalise pupil-teacher ratio in schools.
