Three arrested for operating fake TET website

Bidhannagar City Police on Friday arrested three persons on the charge of running a fake website which showed the result of Teachers Eligibility Test - 2014. The accused were using the original logo of the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE).

Tapash Adhikary (34), Surya Kanta Sushmol (53) and Pachu Gopal Paul (40) were arrested and remanded to seven-day judicial custody.

Investigators seized photo copies of admit card, mark-sheets and other papers of candidates, Rs. 1,62,000 in cash, seven cellphones and fake interview letters.

The Cyber Crime department of the Bidhannagar City Police said that the complainant of the case was R C Bagchi, Secretary, WBBPE. The principal allegation was creation and running of a fake website showing the result of TET-2014 and using the name as well as the logo of said Board.
