Stating that there is no place for intolerance, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said: "We have to be more tolerant in today's world and there should be no scope of creating jealousy among people."
Banerjee was speaking at the centenary celebration of Bharat Sevashram Sangha in Netaji Indoor Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Stressing on the need of being tolerant, she said: "If we love a religion, then we have to save its heritage and it cannot be done by creating difference between two people. Now there are some new tactics to create trouble between two groups of people. But we have to keep in mind that no religion supports any trouble among people."
"I don't support the politics of creating unnecessary trouble. Law will take its own course for all and everyone is equal before law," she said adding that she attends programmes of all religions.
"If I go to places of every religion, then who are you to create a boundary wall? No one stops me from visiting places of all religions, then why will the others be stopped?" she said.
Stating that one cannot survive if heritage does not exists, the Chief Minister further said that she was not ready to ask for anyone else's help to protect the heritage. She announced that the state government would build an auditorium of the Bharat Sevashram Sangha.
Banerjee also assured that the state government would negotiate to help Bharat Sevashram Sangha get a 4 bigha land at Joka on which they will carry out a
project for the benefit of common people.
Banerjee also announced that a road will be renamed after Swami Pravanandaji Maharaj, founder of Bharat Sevashram Sangha and his statue will also be built.
