Thapa trains gun on Gurung, labels him 'BJP puppet'

Darjeeling: A day after Gorkha Janmukti Morcha leader Bimal Gurung suddenly surfaced in Delhi and addressed media persons, back in Darjeeling, GJM leader Anit Thapa blamed his lack of far sight, political acumen and immaturity for the failure of three agitations. He even dubbed Gurung as a BJP puppet who has been working towards fulfilling his selfish political ambitions.
"On August 29, 2017, we had repeatedly told the then GJM president Gurung, that under the federal structure of the country, the state can only convene tripartite talks. Now after 5 months, he has finally realised this. A directionless agitation and 105-day-long bandh did not serve any purpose except harassing our own people. At that point, he had dubbed us anti and even threatened us, asking us to leave the Hills. Now his realisation has come a bit too late," scorned Thapa. Incidentally, West Bengal police has launched a manhunt for Gurung, who is wanted in numerous cases and also charged under the UAPA.
"Gurung is sitting in Delhi with a handful of his close confidants. He is working at the behest of BJP, trying to regain control of the Hills. However, we will not allow the disruption of peace and the call of bandhs in the name of Gorkhaland for personal gains anymore," retorted Thapa.
