Teenager kills drunken father for beating up his mother
Kolkata: A 42-year-old man was beaten to death by his teenager son on Saturday night at Nawabpur in Rajarhat. The 15-year-old boy surrendered himself at the Rajarhat police station on Sunday morning.
According to local residents, the boy resided at Munshipara in Nawabpur with his parents and elder brother Bapi Tarafdar. The deceased, identified as Nurul Ali Tarafdar, was married second time with the boy's mother. A few years ago Nurul married another woman, who lived in Bongaon.
Family members and neighbours of Tarafder said he was a small-time construction material supplier and an alcoholic. He used to return home and beat his wife everyday in a drunken condition. Sources claimed Nurul recently said he would bring his other wife at Rajarhat.
On Saturday night, Nurul returned home around 10:30 pm and started beating his wife. The boy was sleeping in the courtyard outside the house. Around 11:30 pm, he woke up hearing the altercation between his parents. When he saw his father was beating his mother, he took an axe and attacked Nurul from behind. After a few minutes, the boy threw the axe and took a stone and started attacking Nurul.
Around 3:20 am, on Sunday, the boy went to Rajarhat police station. He told the police officer that he had killed his father and wanted to surrender. Showing the blood on his hands and shirt, he convinced the police officers that he killed his father. They took the boy to his home and found that Nurul's body was lying on the floor of courtyard. However, his wife and elder son were nowhere seen. The police recovered the body and sent it for autopsy examination. The boy was taken to police station.
Later on Sunday morning, Nurul's brother Jalil Haque lodged a complaint against the boy, Nurul's wife Minara Bibi and elder son Bapi Tarafdar. The boy was produced before the principal magistrate with a prayer for recording of his confessional statement. Also, the forensic team collected samples from Nurul's home. Police are searching for Bibi and Bapi.
