Taiwan Chief Secy releases booklet on IT&E in Bengal
Kolkata: Chief Secretary of the Government of Taiwan on Friday released a booklet on IT&E in Bengal, at Computex 2018 held in Taipei on Friday.
A special seminar was held where the Chief Secretary, Government of Taiwan, the Secretary General of the Indian Taiwan Association and the Director General of India as well as Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), along with many delegates from India and abroad were present.
Debashis Sen, additional chief secretary, IT and Electronics department, also took part in the seminar.
Sen explained how Bengal is making major progress in the field of IT&E through statistics, videos and graphs and invited all to come to Bengal.
While addressing the gathering, he said Kolkata has an international airport, which is closest to Taiwan. Moreover, there has been no loss of man-days in the past six years and it ranks first in ease of doing business in India.
The other speakers also said how Bengal has made progress in the past few years. There is a land bank and brilliant road connectivity. The state government is ready to provide all sorts of assistance to the investors.
Great enthusiasm among the Taiwanese investors was witnessed and many of them were found inquiring about Bengal and about its industrial and investment environment.
