Supply of filtered water to South Kolkata to stop temporarily on Dec 29
Kolkata: Supply of filtered water to parts of South Kolkata will be temporarily stopped on December 29 after 10 am, with the water supply department of Kolkata Municipal Corporation taking up maintenance work at Garden Reach Water Works (GRWW).
Garden Reach, Jadavpur, Tollygunge, Behala and parts of Borough VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, XV and XVI will not get filtered water supply after 10 am on December 29, a release from the Water Supply department of KMC stated.
"Supply of filtered water from the booster pumping stations at Kalighat, Ranikuthi, Garia, Chetla, Golfgreen, Layelka, Behala, Siriti, Daspara, Bansdroni, Gandhi Maidan, Senpally, Prafulla Park and Parnasree, including some small pumping stations of the GRWW command area, will not be available in the afternoon of December 29. Usual supply will resume on December 30 in the morning," Mayor Firhad Hakim said.
There will be repair work of some leakages and replacement of valves.
