STF nabs FICN racketeer
Kolkata: Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police nabbed a Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) racketeer near Sealdah railway station on Beliaghata Main Road on Tuesday night.
A few months ago, STF officials had recovered a large amount of FICN as well as a huge quantity of narcotics, which were supposed to be delivered to Bangladesh through borders of Bengal.
According to police, on Monday police got a tip about the FICN racketeer and was thus keeping a strict vigil in and around Sealdah railway station on Beliaghata main Road.
At around 7:50 pm, police intercepted a person identified as Raju V of Kanchipuram in Tamil Nadu.
During search, they found several currency notes of Rs 2,000 denomination in his possession amounting to Rs 2.8 lakh. The notes were later detected as FICN.
