State records at least 280 Covid cases in a day

kolkata: Bengal registered a slight rise in daily Covid cases for the three consecutive days on Thursday as the figure jumped to 280 from what stood at 275 on Wednesday. On Tuesday the daily cases remained at 229 while on Monday the figure was registered at 117.

One Covid death was reported in the state on Thursday, unchanged from Wednesday's figure. The figures remained the same on last Friday , Saturday and Thursday. Covid positivity rate on Thursday dropped to 3.19 per cent from what stood at 3.41 per cent on Wednesday. On Tuesday the figure stood at 3.03 per cent and 2.30 per cent on Monday. Around 8,776 samples were tested in the state on Thursday. State has so far carried out 26,406,347 sample tests so far till date. Bengal has so far administered over 1,47,01,983 booster doses cumulatively on the people till September 15. Around 7,29,98,761 crore people received the first dose so far while 6,48,22,690 crore people received two doses of Covid vaccine. Around 50,803 Covid vaccine doses were administered on people on Thursday.

Bengal has so far seen 21,486 Covid death tolls so far. As many as 203 patients have been discharged from hospitals in the past 24 hours as they recovered from Covid. Recovery rate stood at 98.89 per cent on Thursday.
