SSC announces counselling dates for assistant teachers

Kolkata: In a major stride towards recruitment of assistant teachers for class XI and XII in the state-run schools, the School Service Commission (SSC) on Monday announced the dates of counselling for the empanelled candidates.

A notification in this regard was published by the SSC on its website. The counselling will start on July 26 and continue till August 2. However, the SSC has notified that there will be no counselling on July 28 and 29.

The SSC sources further informed that the number of vacancies will be notified

on Tuesday.

It may be mentioned that the SSC had earlier announced counselling dates before preparing the merit list containing names of selected candidates.

On the basis of a litigation, the Calcutta High Court had stayed the counselling date on the grounds that the process can be conducted only after the publication

of the merit list.

The SSC published the merit list on July 16.
