Shashi Panja to launch awareness programme on govt schemes

Kolkata: Shashi Panja, state Women and Child Development and Social Welfare minister and MLA from Shyampukur Assembly constituency will launch a programme to make the party workers and local people aware of various projects introduced by the state government.

Dr Panja met scribes of both print and electronic media at her party office as part of the Jalajoge Jogajog (meeting people over tea and snacks) programme. Trinamool Congress (TMC) launched Banglar Garbo Mamata on March 7 to reach out to people across the state. She interacted with journalists and discussed at length about the party's position in Shyampukur Assembly seat. The party did not do well in the Assembly segment in 2019 Lok Sabha election. However, people in the area have supported the various projects taken up by the state government.

She said various workshops will be held to make the party functionaries aware of various state-run projects so that they, in turn, could make people aware of the state government schemes. Party supremo Mamata Banerjee had repeatedly urged party workers to go to tea stalls and talk to the people to increase contact with the populace. Jalajoge Jogajog is being held by all the MLAs in 294 constituencies and will continue till March 14.
