Shashi Panja inaugurates Sishu Aloy in Purulia on 4th annual Sishu Aloy Dibosh
Kolkata: Shashi Panja, state minister for Women and Child Development and Social Welfare, inaugurated a Sishu Aloy at Manbazar in Purulia, as a part of the 4th annual Sishu Aloy Dibosh.
She also inaugurated 14,000 Sishu Aloy centres all over the state from the dais. She said the centres will play a major role in giving training to the children going for pre-school. The pre primary schools have toys and other gadgets that will help in all-round development of the children.
It may be mentioned that in the administrative review meetings, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had asked the Block Development Officers (BDOs) to go to the ICDS centres and oversee their functioning. For comprehensive development of children, setting up such centres is absolutely necessary. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has named these centres as Sishu Aloy.
On November 27, 2015, the first batch of 1,000 Sishu Aloy centres were inaugurated. In the next year, another 1,404 Sishu Aloy centres were inaugurated, followed by 10,000 more in November 2017.
Shantiram Mahato, minister for Paschimanchal Unnayan Affairs department, Sandhyarani Tudu, minister of state for Backward Classes Welfare department, Moonmoon Sen and Uma Soren, both MPs, were present at the event.
