Sanjib Chattopadhyay receives Sahitya Akademi award at 82
Kolkata: Noted Bengali litterateur Sanjib Chattopadhyay has received Sahitya Akademi award for his novel Sri Krishner Sesh Kata Din.
Chattopadhyay, who is 82-years-
old at present, had joined Anandabazar giving up a job in the state government.
Lotakambal brought him fame and gave him a permanent berth in Bengali literature. Later, his novel Paramapadakamale had attracted hundreds of readers. He has a unique style of storytelling. His write-ups are mixed with satire and philosophy and presented in a very lucid language.
His works, including Kolkata Ache Kolkatatei, Rashe Boshe and Mapa Hashi Mapa Kanna give readers a picture of the contemporary society. He has also written for adolescents and characters like Ruku Suku and Boromama- Mejomama are very popular among readers.
Chattopadhyay's write-up on Sri Ramakrishna, Swami Viveknanda and Ma Sarada are equally popular. Ananta Jiboner Jiboni, Swami Vivekanander Bharat and

and works. He is also a trained musician and used to enthrall the audience with his sonorous voice. He got Ananda Puraskar in 1981.
