Sabujkali Sen is new acting Vice-Chancellor of Visva Bharati Univ

Kolkata: Noted philosopher and Tagore scholar Sabujkali Sen took over as the acting Vice-Chancellor of Visva Bharati (VB) University on Saturday. She is the Director of Studies Educational Innovations and Rural Reconstruction of the varsity.
"We had received the letter from the Ministry of Human Resource Development on Friday that Sen should take over the charge of the Vice-Chancellor," a spokesperson of the varsity said.
The university has been headless for a week after the acting V-C Swapan Kumar Datta left office last Saturday without formally handing over charge to any senior official. It may be mentioned that Datta was acting as the V-C since February 2016 after Sushanta Duttagupta was removed due to financial and administrative irregularities. According to sources in Visva Bharati, the Ministry of Human Resource and Development (HRD) had formed a search committee for appointing a full-time Vice-Chancellor for the central university some months back.
It may be mentioned that Sen has completed her post graduation from VB itself and has been teaching in the Philosophy department since then. She obtained her doctorate degree and later became a Professor in the department. Her essays on Philosophy and Tagore have been published in many reputed national and international journals.
