Prabir Mukhopadhyay is new acting Chairman of DVC

Kolkata: Prabir Kumar Mukhopadhyay, Member-Secretary of DVC, has been assigned with an additional charge of the post of Chairman for a period of three months or till the date when the regular incumbent takes charge until further orders. This happened following the pre-mature repatriation of Andrew Wan Kupar Langstieh to his parent office by an order issued by the ministry of Power on February 2. Mukhopadhyay took over as Member-Secretary of the Damodar Valley Corporation on October 27, 2014. He is an electrical engineer from Jadavpur University and also holds an MBA degree from IGNOU. Prior to joining the DVC, he was posted as Director (Production) in Braithwaite & Co. Limited in Kolkata and also served in different capabilities in BHEL and rose up to the level of DGM there.
