People from across state celebrate International Yoga Day, perform various asanas

Kolkata: Airports Authority of India, Regional Headquarter and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata celebrated International Yoga Day at the Community Hall of AAI New Quarters Residential Colony with an aim to raise awareness of Yoga's many health benefits.

AAI greeted the Yoga instructors from 'Sarnaya Seva Ashram'. Atul Dikshit, Airport Director, NSCBI Airport and Harbir Singh, GM (HR), NSCBI Airport welcomed Maharaj Shri Kulanandanji, Shri Jayadrata Sardar and his team. The Yoga session began with a pledge to practice Yoga every day to achieve a better physical, mental and spiritual health. The yoga instructors made AAI officials aware about how to make the 'Possibilities Possible' in life. The International Yoga Day was also observed at Rajbhavan on Thursday. The venue was the Central Marble Hall of Rajbhavan. All the officers and staffs of Rajbhavan, participated and performed Yoga to celebrate the International day of Yoga. Shantananda Maharaj and his colleague Bimal Kumar Ghosh from Ramakrishna Sarada Ashram, Antpur Hoogly had assisted the officers and staffs of Rajbhavan, to perform Yoga following the Common Yoga Protocol. The day was also celebrated with much enthusiasm by the Army, Navy, Air Force, NCC and Coast Guard in Bengal on Thursday.

Eastern Command celebrated with the theme: "Yoga for Harmony and Peace". A large number of troops and their family members participated from areas of the East and North East in Yoga sessions to spread the awareness and promote a healthy lifestyle. There was a workshop on Yoga in INS Netaji Subhas. Around 400 Air Warriors participated in the yoga sessions at the Air Force School in Barrackpore in North 24-Parganas. As many as 69,000 NCC cadets, 80 officers, 350 military personnel, 250 civil staff from Bengal and Sikkim practised Yogasanas.
