Pandal hoppers must carry umbrellas: MeT
Kolkata: Revellers may get drenched while visiting Puja pandals this year as the Regional Meteorological Centre predicted that it may drizzle in Kolkata and other South Bengal districts.
A senior official of the Alipore Met office on Sunday said that there was a possibility of mild rainfall during puja. The situation may continue even after Pujas. Meanwhile, the North Bengal districts may receive heavy rainfall in the next 48 hours following the formation of a fresh low pressure trough over Bay of Bengal.
The low pressure trough that has formed over Bay-of-Bengal may further intensify. A cyclonic circulation may be created due to the impact of a strong depression. A strong wind may be sweeping through various South Bengal districts.
Three persons were killed in Malda's Ratua after they were struck by lightning. Three others were injured and currently undergoing treatment at the Malda Medical College and Hospital. Two of them are in critical condition. According to weather office, the people in South Bengal districts may continue to experience hot and humid conditions for the next few days.
