Panama Papers case: Shishir Bajoria quizzed

Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday interrogated BJP leader Shishir Bajoria in connection with the Panama Papers case.
According to a senior officer of the ED, he was summoned to their Salt Lake office and he turned up there on Tuesday.
"He is having some offshore entities. We had asked him to submit documents related to the offshore entities to assess whether he has the necessary approvals for those," the officer said adding that the investigating officers are going through the documents.
The officer further said that: "There are certain norms for offshore entities like clearance of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). We are looking into the matter whether all formalities are being maintained, though he is saying that he has all necessary approvals for those entities." This is the first time when the BJP leader has been questioned in this connection by the ED. He might be summoned again if the investigating officer finds it necessary after going through the documents that he submitted with the central investigation agency on Tuesday.
