Pallab Kanti Ghosh meets CBI sleuths, Arnab Ghosh a no-show

Kolkata: Retired IPS officer Pallab Kanti Ghosh met with the Criminal Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officers on Wednesday morning. He was asked to turn up before the CBI sleuths, regarding the Saradha probe. IPS officer Arnab Ghosh was also urged to turn up before CBI.

On Wednesday at around 11:30 am, Pallab arrived at the CGO complex. According to sources, he was asked about the course of the investigation which the Kolkata Police followed during the probe.

He was also shown several documents of witnesses to clarify some points, as he was one of the members of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed by Kolkata Police. CBI sleuths also questioned him about the seizures made during the Saradha scam probe by Kolkata Police.

Apart from Pallab, Arnab was also asked to appear before CBI officials. However, till Wednesday night, it was not clear when he would appear.

Pallab was in the CBI office for almost three hours. Later, while leaving the CGO complex, he said: "I was asked about some information related to the investigation."

The CBI officers' aim was to get statements from the two IPS officers regarding the Saradha scam probe as they had investigated the case at the initial stage.

Arnab was one of the senior officers to probe the Saradha case, when it was being investigated by Bidhannagar Police. He was the then Deputy Commissioner of Police (Detective Department).

ation Team (SIT) was formed. Apart from Bidhannagar

Police, Kolkata Police had also formed an SIT as there were several cases registered under the jurisdiction of the city police.
