Owners of pvt nursing home held for child trafficking

Police have arrested two owners of a nursing home for their alleged involvement in the child trafficking racket. The incident occurred at Bhadura under Falta in South 24 Parganas.

Acting on specific information, a team of senior police officers from the district arrested the two owners of the private nursing home in the district which were allegedly involved in child trafficking racket.

Police have started a detailed probe into the incident to find out if any other nursing homes were involved in the incident.

Police are probing the two accused to ascertain if they were involved in the trafficking scam.

The investigating officers gathered specific information that some people in the nursing home have been involved in the trafficking racket. Many other nursing homes in the district's adjoining area are also under scanner.

A couple of months ago, police recovered two newborn babies from a bush at Falta. After starting an investigation, police came to know that a trafficking racket has been operating in the area. After interrogating some people, they came to know about Prabir Kha and Pradyut Kha, the owners of the nursing home.

Police were investigating about their involvement in the incident. Some people have, however, alleged that the two accused were directly
involved in the child trafficking racket.

According to the preliminary investigation, police suspect that some more people would be involved in the incident. Police officers are also investigating if this was a part of any inter-state child trafficking racket. Police are carrying out a detailed probe into the incident.
