Kolkata: One more person has been arrested in connection with the Ultadanga housewife murder case. The driver of the cab using which the body of Archana Palangdar (housewife) and Balaram Keshri were dumped was arrested on Wednesday night from Bally area. The accused cab driver identified as Vijay Yadav.
Sources informed after arresting Ashis Yadav, an employee of the hotel from New Market, he said the bodies of Palangdar and Keshri were carried using his cab. He also helped Ashis to load the bodies in the car. Sleuths also came to know that Vijay is the brother of Harihar Yadav, the hotel manager.
Vijay was called by Harihar with an intention to dump the bodies. After Ashis was interrogated, police went to Vijay's home but his family members claimed that they do not know where he is. Later, they started monitoring the phone calls of Vijay's family members.
On Wednesday, sleuths came to know that Vijay will be going to his home. Immediately, a team of police surrounded his house secretly.
Vijay was nabbed as soon as he arrived at his place. Sleuths are interrogating him to catch Harihar. Palangdar's body was found on September 21 from Anandapur pumping station near Chowbaga.
During the investigation, police primarly thought Keshri might have murdered Palangdar and fled. But after arresting Ashis, police came to know that Keshri had committed suicide after killing Palangdar. Ashis and others dumped the bodies to keep the hotel's name clean.
