Obscene gestures: Youth held from PGT hostel of Calcutta Med College & Hosp

Kolkata: A youth has been arrested on Tuesday from Post Graduate Trainee (PGT) hostel of Calcutta Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) located in Muchipara area for allegedly making obscene gestures.

According to sources, on Tuesday afternoon few women PGT saw a youth identified as Pintu Roy of Muchipara area was making obscene gestures on the third floor of the hostel. When some of them screamed, the youth tried to flee from

there.

While running through the corridor, Roy collided with a PGT near the lift. It is alleged that when the woman tried to stop Roy, he tried to take her with him inside the lift. Hearing the women screaming, other staff of the hostel rushed to the spot and caught Roy.

After police were informed, Roy was taken into custody by the cops of Muchipara and a case was registered against him on charges of outraging modesty of a woman based on a complaint lodged by one of the PGTs. Sources informed that Roy is a drug addict. Controversy cropped up about how he managed to get inside a women's hostel and went up to the third floor without being noticed.
