Now, witness Durga Puja and offer Pushpanjali at a click of a mouse

Kolkata: Durga Puja has gone hi-tech allowing thousands of NRIs to enjoy the pujas for four days.

Festival Experentia has globally launched the website MahaUtsav Online that will expand the horizon for virtual participation in Durga Puja.

This is an initiative with a mission to help the Indian diaspora across the world to help them take part in the Pujas for the very first time at a click of a mouse.

The newly-launched website MahaUtsav Online will strive to lead this initiative by working closely with selected Puju committees to help them first identify and then implement changes required to achieve the vision of a comprehensive identity for Kolkata's Durga Pujo, while maintaining their individuality and uniqueness.

MahaUtsav Online has tied up with three prominent Puja committees in Kolkata — Chakraberia Sarbojanin, Ahiritola Sarbajanin and Salt Lake FD Block Sarbajanin.

Services that will be offered include online Darshan allowing people to view the rituals at these Puja pandals. This is followed by online Pushpanjali. Online daala allowing people to place 'online orders' for a daala (the offering of sweets, fruits, saree and vermillion that is offered to the goddess along with one's name and gotra (clan name) to seek blessings for oneself and one's family). The offerings duly blessed, if desired, would be delivered to an address within Greater Kolkata. Daalas can be booked from September 29 onwards

Taking a caring step forward, MahaUtsav Online desires to be a catalyst in bringing a prominent change by tying up with major pujas committees for transcending limited experience to a holistic experience for the scores of women visitors in these pandals during Pujas.

The plan is to provide feeding rooms, hygienic toilets and medical aids to women and to provide accessible drinking water, multiple manned help desk and visitor-friendly volunteers for everybody. All three pujas committees have partnered with MahaUtsav Online.

One just has to go to https://www.mahautsavonline.com and search for the pujo, in which he/she would like to take part in. One can also set alerts on the online Nirghonto (Time Table Indicating auspicious indexes) section to get notified about the pujas timings that ensures that the visitor would not miss out on important events and rituals.
