Non-bailable case filed against president of BJP's North Dinajpur unit
Kolkata: The police have filed a new case under non-bailable section against Shankar Chakraborty, president of BJP's North Dinajpur unit, who is in judicial custody now.
Chakraborty was arrested from Domohona area for intervention in police work. Following the death of two former students in Islampur firing on September 23, Chakraborty held a rally and threatened police. He said the policemen should be tied to the trees and beaten up. No water should be given to them and urged people not to cooperate with police. He was arrested and produced before Raigunj SDJM Court. The Court remanded him to 14-day judicial custody.
Meanwhile, the police have filed another case under non-bailable section for organising rallies without police permission. Chakraborty had organised rallies on August 29 when state BJP president Dilip Ghosh had visited the area.
