No untrained candidate in Upper Primary merit list: SSC chief

Kolkata: There are no untrained candidate in the Upper Primary merit list claimed Soumitra Sarkar, the chairman of School Service Commission (SSC).

On October 4, for the first time, the merit list of candidates containing division of marks was published.

The candidates were given the chance of filing written complaints on Saturdays, Sundays and other holidays from 10 am to 5 pm.

The names, mobile

numbers and the nature of complaints have been jotted down.

Every complaint will be probed and appropriate steps would be taken, said the SSC Chairman.

He rubbished the allegation that the names of many untrained candidates have been included in the merit list.

Sarkar said the High Court was informed on July 1 that no untrained candidate has been called for the personality test. He said SSC had followed three layers to ensure transparency in the personality test.

In the merit list, a column titled professional qualification has been added to ensure that the candidate is professionally qualified.

He said SSC has

received several complaints against the candidates whose names have appeared in the merit list. Complaints were raised that the candidates did not have professional qualification.

On inquiry, it was found that many of them had received training from UGC affiliated institutions situated outside Bengal.

Sarkar said every possible measure has been taken to keep the merit list transparent.
