Saradha case Two accused get bail

The Calcutta high court granted bail to two of the accused in Saradha chit fund case – Sadananda Gogoi and Naresh Balotia on Thursday.

The court could not see any development in the case against Sadananda till January 2016. The Assamese singer was given bail at the Calcutta high court by the division Bench of Justice Nishita Mhatre and Justice Tapas Mukherjee.

The verdict said, there are no such developments on the part of investigating agency CBI till January. However, Gogoi cannot leave West Bengal, because the process of investigation is still ongoing.

He needs to appear before the investigating officer of CBI. However, Naresh Balotia, the lawyer of Saradha Group owner Sudipta Sen was given bail for his deteriorating health. He has been given an interim bail for three months only. Balotia can go outside the state for his treatment though.

However, the court on Thursday said that no concrete development on both these cases of Gogoi and Balotia has happened on the part of the investigation. Both the accused were given bail after they submitted the security bond of Rs 25 lakh.
