Parents of Scottish Church Collegiate School protest against fee hike

A section of guardians of students of Scottish Church Collegiate School protested in front of the school premises, alleging abrupt fee hike on Thursday. The protesting guardians affixed posters in the walls of school demanding an immediate cut in the fee-structure of the school. However, the school authority ruled out the allegations.

The guardians staged a strong demonstration against the fee-hike in front of the school on Thursday. They alleged, the school authority did not even discuss the issue with the guardians before indiscriminate increase of school fees.

Some guardians also alleged that their children did not take part in extra-curricular activities. They should not be charged with such increasing school fees.

The guardians also alleged that the school hiked the fare by at least 25 per cent. There are many underprivileged families, who send their wards to this institution, and will now face problems with the hiked fee.

The guardians discussed among themselves not to submit the fees till the school authority decreases the fee. They also tried to influence other guardians not to submit fees till the school retreats from its position.
