Udayan killed Akansha to hush up parents' murder

Udayan had killed Akansha to suppress his earlier crime of killing his parents, police said.

Ascertaining that to be the exact motive behind Akansha's murder, superintendent of police of Bankura District, Sukhwendu Hira said: "Udayan had killed Akansha after she came to know that her in-laws were killed by her live-in partner."

Hira said that they are almost confirmed that there was no motive of Udayan to make money by some means after killing Akansha. "His only motive was to hide the crime of killing his parents that Akansha had come to know after finding out the death certificate of his mother whom he had claimed to be in US then," he said adding that he had killed his parents just to get all their money to lead a luxurious life.

He never liked arithmetic and science, but his parents had forced him to continue with science in X+II level. Again, he was often bullied by his friends in his childhood after listening to his highly ambitious aims. Such incidents turned him stubborn and he wanted to become wealthy in life. He had failed to complete his studies successfully and stopped going to college. But his ambition remained the same.

Finding no other way to earn a huge amount of money within a short span of time, he had killed his father and mother. He knew that they had a huge savings as both of them were working. He had buried them in a courtyard in their Raipur house that he had also sold out later to get money.

He used to spend a huge amount of money for "escort services" and for the same purpose he visited places including Singapore, Vietnam, Indore and Delhi.

He came in touch with Akansha for the first time in 2007 through another social networking site Orkut.

After a gap for few years, they once again came in touch through Facebook in January 2014.Udayan had claimed that he was settled in US and was working with an organisation there. He also assured her a job with the UNICEF.

He had also sent a fake offer letter of Akansha's job in the UNICEF. Considering it to be the real one, she left home and went to Delhi. From there Udayan took her to his Bhopal house saying they will leave for US within the next two days.

Akansha's suspicion was aroused as he did not take her to the US even after a month and at the same time she found the death certificate of his mother whom he claimed to be in US.

She then decided to return to Bankura. Apprehending that she may disclose everything to her parents, Udayan had killed her and buried her under the floor of his room.
