CCTV cameras to be installed to track 'ghost riders'

To check the menace of 'ghost riders', the local administration in Bolpur has decided to install to around 40 CCTV cameras in and around Viswa Bharati University after receiving complaints from the students.

Many students from the Viswa Bharati University often complain that they were heckled and abused by some bikers who are often seen in the darker area of the road. They said that the bikers wear helmet and prefer to park the bike in desolate areas. When some people pass through the area, the accused bikers beat up the students, sometimes molest them and flee from the place on their motorcycles.

The police have taken steps to strengthen the security of the areas. Police, however, believe that bikers are local miscreants who perform various anti-social activities in the area.
