New circuit houses to highlight ethnicity of local areas through artworks

In a bid to highlight local tradition and culture of a place, the state government has decided to design the new circuit houses based on the ethnicity of the area where they are coming up.
According to an official of the state government, the initiative has been taken considering that many eminent people from different parts of the country will be visiting them and would witness local artworks in the circuit houses will enlighten them about the culture and tradition of the area.
Initially, the initiative has been taken up for the circuit houses coming up at Jhargram and Murshidabad respectively.
The circuit house in the newly formed district Jhargram is coming up near the station following all the necessary standard operating procedures. There will be two conference rooms, cafeterias and more than 10 rest rooms in the circuit house as it is present in all the others. But the unique feature of the Jhargram circuit house will be its design which is based on lifestyle of the locals, their culture and tradition.
The state government has engaged two local artists for the mural works that has to be done in the circuit house. There will be inscriptions on the walls depicting local tradition, said the official. "For example, there will be art works in which the life of the locals of the area will be depicted in motifs on walls of the circuit houses," the official said. Alpanas (colourful motifs) will be found in the circuit house as well. The scenic beauty of certain places in Jhargram is going to be incorporated in the designs which will be made by local artists.
A similar project has also been taken up in another circuit house that is coming up in Murshidabad's Kandi. Hazarduari is the centre of attraction in Murshidabad for thousands of tourists from different parts of the country and abroad visit it every year. So it has been decided that depictions of similar types of artwork made of stones will be done in the circuit house.
The official further added that security aspects have also been kept under consideration as famous personalities, senior officials and ministers usually stay in circuit houses.
