Never had a 'red diary' or pen-drive: Saradha chief
Kolkata: In a startling revelation, Saradha group chief Sudipto Sen, while being produced before the Barasat Court on Tuesday, said that he had no 'red diary'.
This comes at a time when some BJP leaders have raised a hue and cry, saying that the special investigation team (SIT) constituted by the state government to probe the multi-crore Saradha scam might have concealed a 'red diary' of Sen that had contained crucial information related to the case.
Refuting the claims made by BJP leaders, Sen said that he had no 'red diary' or any pen-drive, in reply to a question thrown at him by the media outside Barasat Court.
The reporters had asked Sen where his 'red diary' and pen-drive had been. Initially, Sen did not reply to the question of the media, but after being repeatedly prodded, the Saradha chief said he never had any such item in his possession.
It may be mentioned that after the city witnessed a showdown between Kolkata Police officers and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials on last Sunday, where the latter were denied entry to Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar's house for interrogation, after some BJP leaders started pointing fingers at him.
They alleged that the SIT which had been probing the scam might have concealed the 'red diary' of Sen and that Kumar, the then head of the SIT, cannot shed his responsibil-
ities.
But the allegations brought by a section of BJP leaders in the state sounded vindictive after Sen himself rejected the speculation and asserted that he had no such document.
