NCB seizes 78 kgs of ganja from Bishnupur area in South 24-Parganas

KOLKATA: The zonal team of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) seized around 78 kgs of ganja from the motor workshop of one Rehman, a resident of Bishnupur in South 24-Parganas. The incident took place on Friday night. One Saifuddin Sheikh has been arrested from the same area in this connection. The investigators are probing if other persons are involved in the incident.

According to the NCB, the source of the seized drug is Odisha and these narcotic substances were coming to Kolkata.

A senior official of the NCB said a detailed probe has been initiated in this regard to identify the other accused if any. The arrested person has also been interrogated.

The seized drugs and the arrested person will be produced before a court in Alipore on Sunday. The officials are trying to know the entire modus-operandi.

The investigators are not ruling out the possibilities of other individuals being involved in the incident.
