Murder accused flees from correctional home in Purulia

Kolkata: An under-trial prisoner has fled from Raghunathpur Sub-Correctional Home in Purulia on Saturday. A complaint has been lodged in this connection with the local police station and a probe in this connection has been started.
Police said the absconding inmate, Sadhu Kaibarta, was arrested in connection with a murder.
It was on Saturday evening when the correctional home authorities discovered that Kaibarta was missing. They raised the alarm and a search was conducted on the entire premises of the correctional home, but they couldn't find him out.
Later, after preliminary investigation, the police are suspecting that he had managed to flee by scaling the wall at the back side of the correctional home. The investigation further revealed that he had been planning to escape for the past several days and had made all necessary arrangements to flee.
He had used the opportunity on Saturday afternoon when other inmates were busy in their respective work. However, the police are trying to find out whether any other inmate had helped him to flee. The police are also trying to find out if anyone had seen him fleeing from the correctional home.
Police initiated the task of searching him from Saturday night itself and all police stations have been informed about the incident, along with photographs of Kaibarta, so that he gets arrested as soon as he is spotted anywhere.
It was on May 2, when a woman, Pushpa, was murdered and it was alleged that Kaibarta was behind the murder. Based on the complaint lodged with the police, he was arrested and he had later confessed his crime. He was sent to the correctional home as per the order of court.
