MR Bangur introduces 'Super Ke Bolo' initiative for patients

Kolkata: MR Bangur Hospital has come up with a unique idea of strengthening its grievance redressal mechanism to provide better healthcare services to the patients.

The hospital superintendent and other senior officials have started

a 'Super Ke Bolo' campaign, in

which the patients and their family members can directly talk to the hospital superintendent, expressing their grievances.

The senior hospital officials might have been inspired by the 'Didi Ke Bolo' campaign, which has gained unprecedented popularity in the state. Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee had introduced the 'Didi Ke Bolo' campaign, to listen to the grievances of the people in the state.

The hospital has recently opened a counter which remains operational for one hour from 5 pm every day. The hospital superintendent and other senior officials sit at the counter to look into the complaints of the patients and their family members.

It may be mentioned here that the new system has been introduced after Dr Sisir Naskar took charge as the hospital super. Dr Naskar has been directly speaking to the patients and their family members.

He has also been inquiring if the patients have been facing any problems relating to health services, food and other issues. It has been a huge boost to the patients who have received a platform to articulate their grievances at the highest level.

Incidentally, a multi-superspecialty hospital has recently been inaugurated within the MR Bangur complex by the Chief Minister. A 60-bed dialysis unit has also been made operational in the hospital.

The patients and their family members visiting the hospital have welcomed the move undertaken by the hospital.

"Patients sometimes have minor issues which can be resolved if they get an opportunity to talk to the hospital superintendent directly. The new system has seen great success so far. Patients' grievances are addressed within a short span of time. The other hospitals and medical colleges in the city can also replicate the move," a senior official of the hospital said.

After coming to power, the Mamata Banerjee government has set up a number of platforms in various levels of administration, so that people do not face any difficulties while availing the various social schemes run by her government.

Even the district administrations have been asked to ensure that the people in rural areas reap benefits of the state government schemes.
