More than 550 passengers land in Kol, state Health Dept takes note
Kolkata: After 542 passengers who arrived in the city from the Gulf countries were quarantined in the past two days, more than 550 passengers landed at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport on Saturday in different flights were handed over to the medical teams of state Health Department.
According to sources, as per the latest decision by the NSCBI Airport authority, information of the passengers travelling from the Gulf countries are being conveyed to the concerned authority in order to segregate them from others at the time of deboarding.
This apart, information of all foreigners and Indians coming from abroad are being uploaded to a centralised system on the Internet which can be accessed by the Union ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the state Health Department.
As per the decisions made earlier, it was decided that every passenger coming from any of the Gulf countries and those who have visited China, Iran, Republic of Korea, Italy, Spain, France and Germany on or after February 15, must be quarantined. It was later decided that Indians coming from Italy and the Republic of Korea, who have started after 12:00 hours, GMT on March 18, will have to produce a COVID-19 negative certificate at the airport.
