Missing boy found in ashram near home

Kolkata: A boy who had gone missing was found in an ashram near his home at Baghajatin on Saturday night.

According to sources, the 10-year-old boy of Baghajatin went missing on Saturday morning. He reportedly told his parents that he going out to buy candies and did not return home.

After almost an hour, when the boy did not come back, his parents started looking for him.

His parents came to know from a medical shop owner close to their residence that he bought a mask worth Rs 40. Later, they lodged a missing complaint at Netajinagar police station. On Saturday night, a few local residents went to an ashram to attend an event. They saw the boy there wearing a mask. Immediately they informed his parents.

He was taken to Netajinagar police station and police tried interacting with the boy. But the boy did not utter a word before the police. He was handed over to his parents.

Sources inform that boy had urged his parents to send him to a boarding school which they refused. It is said the boy was depressed for the past few days.

His father claimed that he tried talking to him but he is not telling anything.

Though the boy has been found, the police are trying to find out if he was abducted. Cops suspect the boy was kidnapped and later dropped in the ashram.
