Minidor driver dumps accident victim, escapes

A driver of a minidor picked up an accident victim, knocked down by his vehicle to evade a public lynching and later dumped him near Prince Anwar Shah Road a few kilometers away from the place of the accident.
The incident occurred on late Monday night. The local residents on Tuesday morning found the victim lying with serious injuries on his body.
They rushed the victim to MR Bangur Hospital where he was declared brought dead. The body has been sent for the post-mortem examination.
The victim, Seikh Selim was hit by a minidor van at around 10.30 pm on Monday on Tollygunge Circular Road.
After seeing the incident, the local people stopped the vehicle. They asked the driver of the vehicle to take the victim to the hospital. The driver and the helper
denied to do this. As the local residents threatened to hand the driver and the helper over to the police, the accused picked up the victim in the vehicle.
The driver and the helper later pushed the victim out of the running vehicle and he fell on the road following which, the driver and the helper fled from the spot.
The local residents on Tuesday morning informed the police who have started an investigation in this regard.
Police are examining the CCTV footages in this connection. Police suspect that the victim died due to bleeding. They are also are conducting raids to nab the culprits who are still at large. Police are also interrogating the local residents in this connection.
A local resident told the police that he saw a person lying on the Prince Anwar Shah Road, profusely bleeding from many parts of his body. He called up some other people and took the victim to the hospital.
But their attempts were in vain as the victim was declared brought dead after being taken to the hospital.
