Mayor visits ED office in Salt Lake

Mayor Sovan Chatterjee went to the office of the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday in connection with Narada sting operation.

Sources said the investigating officers had urged Chatterjee, who is also the state's Fire and Emergency Services department, Environment and Housing Department minister, to provide documents that would help them carry out the probe. It is learnt that the Mayor has provided certain documents and the investigating officers spoke to him in this connection.

It was at around 11.30 am when the Mayor when to the ED office at CGO Complex in Salt Lake. It may be mentioned that the ED officers had earlier questioned Narada News CEO Mathew Samuel. The investigating agency spoke to Chatterjee to verify the statements given by Samuel regarding the same. Earlier, ED officers had verified Samuel's version by questioning Syed Tazdar Ali Mirza, alias Tiger.
