Mayor lodges fresh complaints against wife, her friend at Parnasree PS

Kolkata: Mayor Sovan Chatterjee has lodged two written complaints against his wife and one of her friends for entering the premises of his residence with mala fide intention. Both the complaints have been lodged with the Parnasree police
station in Behala.
According to police sources, the first complaint was lodged on February 19, when Mayor alleged that her wife's friend Jhuma
Saha had entered his residence with mala
fide intention.
It was on February 24 when Chatterjee lodged his second complaint that Saha had again forcefully entered his house. Mayor's assistant was allegedly threatened by Saha when he tried to prevent her from entering.
In both the cases, it was his wife Ratna who instigated her friend to act in this manner, as per the
complaint by the Mayor
"My life would have been at stake had the woman (friend) got inside the flat. I am amazed why police did not respond despite my complaint," Chatterjee reportedly stated in his second complaint.
Talking to reporters on this issue he said: "I will not surrender my rights to paternal properties.
I have been compelled to leave my house under tremendous mental pain and I will pray that even my enemy should not suffer from this agony."
A senior police official said that an FIR has been initiated on the basis of his complaints and the
investigation is on.
In November last year, Chatterjee, who is also a cabinet minister in charge of three government departments - Fire Services,
Housing and Environment moved a divorce petition against his wife, Ratna, at Alipore Court Kolkata alleging that he was mentally harassed by her.
The husband wife duo is living separately for the last few months while the divorce petition is pending.
