Mann Ghising resigns from GNLF, dissolves all committees
Darjeeling: Gorkha National Liberation Party President Mann Ghising on Friday dissolved the Central committee, sub divisional committees and all committees of the frontal organisations of GNLF except for the
Himalayan Plantation Workers Union (trade union) and Bhut Purva Sainik Sangathan (Ex Servicemen's
organization)
Along with this, he also tendered his resignation from the post of Chairman,
Hill Area Development Committee, thereby forgoing the status of Minister of State.
Addressing a gathering at Kurseong GDNS Hall, Mann Ghising stated: "In order to strengthen the party and live up to the expectations of the masses, the party has to be reorganised and put to order. Hereby, I dissolve the Central Committee, the district committees of Darjeeling and Kalimpong and the sub division committee along with all the frontal organizations except for the
HPWU and BSS.
The GNLF on Friday commemorated the birth anniversary of founder President Late Subash Ghising. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday had tweeted: "Remembering Gorkha leader Subash Ghising on his birth anniversary."
Mann Ghising stated that under the present political situation in the Hills, it was apt that he resigns from the Hill Area Development Committee (HADC)
Along with his GNLF leaders, Mahindra Chettri tendered his resignation from the post of Vice-Chairman and Ajoy Edward as a Member of the HADC.
