Manja injures another biker on Vidyasagar Setu

Kolkata: A middle- aged man who was on his way to his relative's funeral got bruises on his throat from manja (kite flying thread) on Friday.

According to sources, the incident took place at 6 pm and the man got stitches on his throat and fingers.

Md Ghufran, a resident of Shibpur who was heading towards Alimuddin Street from Howrah Shibpur on a bike, was about to get down from the Vidyasagar Setu, when he noticed itching and a burning sensation on his throat and fingers. He then noticed blood coming out from his throat and fingers.

A police case has also being registered in this connection. The incident reminds about a man whose face was slashed due to kite string on Maa flyover recently.
