Man mowed down by speeding bus

Kolkata: A person was run over by a speeding private bus near ESI hospital on Acharya Prafulla Chandra Road on Wednesday night. The deceased Sultan Ahmed (55), is a resident of Narkeldanga Main Road. Ahmed was crossing the road in a hurry when the private bus of route 30 B crushed him. He was rushed to Nilratan Sarkar Medical College and Hospital by officers from the Amherst Street police station. He had suffered multiple injuries and was declared brought dead. The bus that fled away from the spot after the accident was intercepted by the police and impounded. The bus driver, however, is still at large. A specific case has been initiated at Amherst Street Police station and the investigation has been started with the help of the fatal section of Kolkata Police
