Man held for molesting cook

Kolkata: Bidhannagar South police station has apprehended a person identified as Md Mehboob, for allegedly molesting a woman who used to work as a cook in an office canteen at the Metropolitan area adjacent to Eastern Metropolitan Bypass.

According to police, the woman worked at the canteen for a few months in 2017. But Mehboob did not give her the promised remuneration. She left the job as she was pregnant. After her child was born, she used to stay at home.

Before resigning from her job, she was made to sign several documents, claiming that they were necessary to open a bank account.

She was also asked for

her photo and identity and address proof for the same, which were used by Mehboob to open a joint bank account, posing as the husband of the woman.

Recently, when she met Mehboob and demanded her due remuneration, he allegedly molested and threatened her. Later, she lodged a complaint with Bidhannagar South police station.
