Man held for killing TMC leader

Kolkata: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested a 46-year-old man from Sagardighi in Murshidabad in connection with the murder of Trinamool Congress leader Dalim Seikh. Police said the accused Babar Ali Sheikh is a resident of Simulia near Mongolkote in Burdwan. Police had conducted a raid at a hideout at Sagardighi and arrested Babar. The police had been searching for the accused for quite some time now. On Monday, the officers had received a tip-off and acting on it, they conducted a raid at Sagardighi. The accused had attempted to flee but the CID officers had chased and arrested him. The police had earlier arrested Saddam Seikh and Farooq Seikh from Delhi for their alleged involvement in the murder. It may be recalled that the victim's family members had lodged a complaint with the police against 15 persons. CID had later taken over the case from the local police.
