Man found dead with injury marks on body
Kolkata: Tension triggered at Rathtala in Burdwan after a civic volunteer's body was found under a bridge on Monday morning. The deceased was identified as Rabindranath Ghosh (37). He was posted at the Dewandighi police station in Burdwan.
According to his family members, Ghosh left his home on Sunday around 2 pm. He told his family that he was going to Kanchan Utsav for duty. As he did not returned home till late night, his family members started looking for him at their relative's homes. They also tried calling him but they said his mobile was switched off. Ghosh's family decided to seek help from the police on Monday morning. Some local residents identified Ghosh, who was lying unconscious on the bank of Banka canal under the canal bridge and the police was also informed. Police recovered him and sent his body to the Burdwan Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Later, Ghosh's family identified Ghosh at the hospital.
A source said his body bore multiple injury marks.
