Man dies after being slapped by employer, 1 held

Kolkata: A person was killed after allegedly being slapped by his employer at Simlai area under Chitpore police station on Friday night. The duo had a heated altercation over some dues when in a fit of rage, the accused slapped him hard just over his ear. He soon felt pain in his chest and was rushed to RG Kar Hospital, where he died a few hours after admission.

Police have arrested the employer and slapped a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against him. The victim Samir Sadukhan (36) was a resident of Chakdah in Nadia and used to live on rent in Dum Dum. He used to work as a tailor in the readymade garment business of his employer Laltu Poddar. Samir's family alleged that Laltu had been delaying his payment. On Friday night, Samir had an urgent need of Rs 35,000 which he asked from his employer. He refused to pay the money and a heated quarrel ensued between them.
