Man chops off mother-in-law's right hand
Kolkata: A man chopped off the right hand of his mother-in-law when she allegedly asked him to leave her house at Patashpur in East Midnapore on Thursday morning. He even stabbed his mother-in-law and wife multiple times. Sanjay Raut had visited Namita Panda house to meet his wife Mamata Raut.
Sanjay and Mamata, who are from Snaya village in Patashpur, got married about 10 years ago. After a few years, their marriage hit a rough patch. To dissolve their differences, the families and neighbours of the couple tried helping them. But, nothing worked, Mamata left Sanjay's house and started living with her mother.
While Sanjay left Bengal to earn his living. Approximately a month ago, he returned to his village. On Thursday, around 10am, he allegedly reached Mamata's house. However, Mamata's mother Namita Panda asked him to leave. In a fit rage, Sanjay allegedly took out a sharp weapon and stabbed Panda and chopped off her right hand. Hearing her mother's scream, Mamata tried to stop Sanjay but she failed. Sanjay stabbed Mamata multiple times and left the house. Locals rushed them to Egra Super Specialty Hospital. Later, both of them were shifted to a hospital in Kolkata.
