Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will attend the meeting of the opposition parties called by National Congress Party supremo Sharad Pawar on March 27 and 28 to discuss political strategies and policies ahead of the next general elections. NCP leader Praful Patel met the Chief Minister at Nabanna on Friday and stated that Banerjee had confirmed her presence at the meeting.
He said: "On behalf of my party leader Sharad Pawar, I had a discussion with Mamata Banerjee and subsequently there was a telephonic conversation between Pawar and Banerjee as well. In the discussion, they have decided that not only the NCP and the TMC but senior leaders of other political parties will also be present at the scheduled meeting in Delhi to chalk out the future course of action." Patel further added: "Banerjee also mooted the idea of a Federal Front where ideas and perspectives of different political parties will also be discussed to come up with a concrete action plan to create an alternative to combat the regime at the Centre."
