Mamata reaches out to people again, visits Moulali & Behala

Kolkata: Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited Behala and Moulali areas and requested people to follow the lockdown norms earnestly on Thursday.

This was the third consecutive day when she visited different areas in the city and urged people to remain indoors. Banerjee is the only Chief Minister in the country who is personally visiting different areas and requesting people to remain indoors to check the spread of COVID-19.

On Tuesday she visited Park Circus, Tiljala, Rajabazar and Mathpukur areas, while on Wednesday she went to Kidderpore, Ballygunge Phari and Park Circus. She had talked to the conservancy workers on Wednesday as well. She encouraged the workers to carry out their duties braving all odds.

Seated in an SUV, the Chief Minister addressed the local people of Moulali through the public address system. She spoke in both Bengali and Hindi and urged the people to maintain the lockdown norms. She spoke for over 15 minutes.

From Moulali she went to Behala and addressed the local people. "I know how painful it is to remain indoors for so many days. But we will have to follow the lockdown norms to check the spread of the disease. Spend time with your family and stay well," she said. She urged people to follow the lockdown norms strictly while visiting the markets. "You should maintain one meter distance from the next person while visiting the markets. Physical distancing can help to contain the disease," she remarked.

It may be recalled that Banerjee had drawn safety circles on the roads in front of the stalls and shops at Janbazar Market and urged people to follow it. This has been later replicated in front of all the markets across the state.
